Law Firms Are Newest Target for Hacker Group
The FBI has issued an alert about a known hacker group calling and emailing law firms, pretending to be tech support workers.
Who Is at Risk
Anyone who works at or runs a law firm — including receptionists, paralegals, and attorneys — is currently being targeted.
What to Watch For
An unexpected phone call or email from someone claiming to be from “IT support” or “tech help” asking to access your computer or verify your login information.
What to Do
If you receive an unsolicited call or email from someone claiming to be IT support, hang up or ignore it and verify their identity by calling your company’s official IT department directly using a number you already know.
