Watch Out for AI Video Scams

Scammers are now using AI-made video and audio to pretend to be real people, making fake requests for money, information, or urgent help much more believable. This makes it easier for them to trick people into trusting something that is not real.

Who Is at Risk

Anyone who communicates by phone, video, email, or social media, especially people who handle money or sensitive requests.

What to Watch For

Be cautious of sudden urgent requests from someone you know, especially if the person asks for money, gift cards, passwords, or private information in a way that seems unusual.

What to Do

Pause before acting and verify the request through a different way, such as calling the person back using a known number or confirming in person.
